In a world where design, culture, and identity continuously intersect, Glasshaus Magazine emerges as a bold and collaborative platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of young female designers. Conceived and created by Jane Teska, with design production and management led by Nancy Dumitru and Alua Amangeldikyzy, Glasshaus was born from a desire to stay connected after the team’s college years. What started as a way to maintain creative bonds has flourished into a publication that celebrates the power of storytelling through design.
Glasshaus is a space by women, for women. This inaugural issue showcases the talents of twelve creative individuals, each bringing their unique skills and perspectives to shape the magazine’s identity. Their shared vision is to explore the relationship between design and the broader themes of culture and identity, all while embracing the fluidity of artistic expression. Typography, writing, photography, and layout merge to create a visual and intellectual experience inspired by warm summer days and the essence of girlhood.
For Issue 01, the magazine invited ten designers to delve into subjects they are passionate about, crafting a collection of articles that are as personal as they are cohesive. From interviews with women in design to explorations of fashion history, curating interior spaces, and culinary insights, each feature is a reflection of the contributors’ creative voices. The result is a rich tapestry of perspectives that highlight the depth and diversity of female-driven design.
More than just a publication, Glasshaus Magazine stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, creativity, and community. As it grows, it continues to carve out a space where emerging female designers can share their work, inspire one another, and contribute to an ever-evolving artistic landscape.
