The Creative Lunch Club is an innovative global community designed for graphic designers, photographers, artists, marketers, and professionals in creative industries. The concept is simple yet powerful: members are matched with two other creatives once a month, setting up a time and place to share a meal and engage in meaningful conversations.
What started as a local initiative in Vienna has rapidly expanded worldwide. In just over a year, the Creative Lunch Club has attracted more than 10,000 membersacross 150 cities in Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. The community includes not only graphic designers and marketers but also architects, musicians, fashion designers, filmmakers, and various other artists.
Cities known for their vibrant creative scenes, such as London, Berlin, Paris, and Barcelona, have seen a strong presence of members. At the same time, the initiative has also gained traction in smaller cities like Antwerp and Geneva. The Creative Lunch Club has made a significant impact in major U.S. cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, while also growing in Canadian hubs like Montreal and Toronto. The Australian creative community has also embraced the initiative, with active groups in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. At the beginning of this year with Tokyo and Seoul the first two Asian cities were launched.
Joining the Creative Lunch Club is a straightforward process. For a membership fee of just €10 per three months, members register on the website, providing details about their profession, portfolio, and the city in which they wish to participate. At the beginning of each month, they receive an email with two other members’ details and can then coordinate their lunch meetup.
There are no set rules for these lunches. Conversations can range from work and creative projects to inspirations and personal interests. The shared experience of working in creative industries naturally fosters engaging discussions and increases the likelihood of meaningful connections that extend beyond the lunch table.
The Creative Lunch Club was founded by Klaus Heller in April 2023. Based in Vienna, Heller has a background in social media marketing, having worked in a digital creative agency before launching his own freelance business in 2016. His goal with the Creative Lunch Club is to connect creative individuals worldwide, fostering collaboration, inspiration, and a sense of community through face-to-face interactions.
With its rapid growth and enthusiastic participation from creatives across the globe, the Creative Lunch Club is proving that the simple act of sharing a meal can lead to lasting professional relationships and new creative opportunities. Whether in a bustling metropolis or a smaller creative hub, this initiative is redefining networking in the creative world—one lunch at a time.
