Studio Blackburn has completely transformed the identity of Ventura Foreman, a design and manufacturing studio, creating a brand persona that truly captures the essence of their unique ethos.
The project brief granted us significant creative freedom, yet with one crucial directive: to craft a perception that the brand is ‘clean, simple, and familiar, but with a subtle twist that something is not quite right.’
This intentional sense of ‘a little bit wrong’ was meticulously woven into every aspect of the rebrand. From the typographic system used in the logo to the method of attaching labels, every detail was considered. This guiding principle even influenced our choice of typeface. They selected ABC Marfa Medium by Dinamo®, a typeface designed to be sturdy and utilitarian, perfect for a fast-paced era with no time to waste. Its subtle quirks, which initially seem out of place, proved to be the perfect fit for Ventura Foreman.
Breaking away from conventional branding practices, the new identity doesn’t rely on a fixed colour palette. Instead, it utilizes a variety of paper stocks and colours, carefully chosen to complement the clothing and the diverse range of fabrics available. Accents of colour are introduced as needed for print collateral, postage labels, and other branded assets, ensuring each element feels fresh and contextually appropriate.
